Establishment The first Japanese Conference on Calorimetry sponsored by The Chemical Society of Japan was held in Osaka, fall in 1965. About 200 Japanese researchers interested in Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis participated in this Conference. In this year the first International Conference on Thermal Analysis (ICTA) was also held in Aberdeen, Scotland during September 1965. Since 1965, The Japanese Conference on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis (JCCTA) has been held once a year. The numbers of the participants and lectures in the Japanese conference have been increasing year by year, and the contents of lectures have been diversified and enriched. Under the pressure of necessity in cooperation and in close contact other, The Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis, Japan was organized on November in 1969 as the fruit of the first conference under the leadership of Professor Seki and this Society sponsored JCCTA.
In addition to the annual Japanese Conference on Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis, The Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis, Japan has conducted the publications of News Letter and edited the Review Journal of "Calorimetry, Temperature Measurement and Thermal Analysis". With expanding the organization and enlarging the business, this Society has became more active for international exchange and are ready to cooperate with the foreign society related to calorimetry and thermal analysis. Under these circumstances, The Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis, Japan was enlarged and reorganized as The Japan Society of Calorimetry and Thermal Analysis (JSCTA) on October in 1973. The fifth ICTA Conference was held in Kyoto, Japan, August in 1977 and this Society has undoubtedly established a definite footing in the progressive field of calorimetry and thermal analysis in the world. |
